WHO IS CYRIL WECHT?
Since John F. Kennedy’s November 1963 assassination in Dallas, Texas, forensic pathologist and lawyer Dr Cyril Wecht was initially inclined to accept the original conclusion that one person acted alone in the killing.
However, with 58 years passing since the assassination, Dr Wecht has only grown more convinced that the Lee Harvey Oswald theory is incorrect – adding more fuel to the JFK assassination debate after the release of his new book “The JFK Assassination Dissected.”
In November 2021, Dr Wecht (90), formally published his new work with Hollywood director Oliver Stone and fellow producer, Dawna Kaufmann. The book itself took six years to write and over 55 years of back and forth arguing with the Warren Commission, the Rockefeller Commission, the Central Intelligence Agency, the US Government and Congress.
And after 55 years, Dr Wecht still longs for the world to find out what really occurred in Dallas, Texas on that fateful morning of November 22nd, 1963.
For almost six decades, Dr Wecht has devoted his time and research to study the 58 year old conspiracy regarding the suspicious assassination of JFK; speaking back and forth with congress, attorneys, the courts and even filmmaker Oliver Stone – who directed the 1991 film, “J.F.K.,” which led to Stone’s famous 1992 congressional hearing.
THE JFK ASSASSINATION DISSECTED
Dr Wecht, Stone & Kaufmann cite many details in which the public had previously been oblivious too in their new book, including unpublished interviews with Oswald’s Russian widow Marina Nikolayevna Oswald, and the shadowy CIA-affiliate, George de Mohrenschildt (who befriended the Oswald family and later took his own life in 1977). Who corroborated with Nikolayevna in her endorsement that Oswald was nothing but a “patsy.”
Dr Wecht highlights newly declassified information regarding former United States CIA Director, Allen Dulles (then to be a member of the Warren Commission), who was expelled on request by concerns posed by JFK himself regarding the failed Bay of Pigs invasion that had been designed to oust Fidel Castro.
Dr Wecht implies that Lee Harvey Oswald may have been working under direct instruction of Allen Dulles; going on to argue that Dulles was enraged by his expulsion and sought revenge against the president. He also details Kennedy’s autopsy and the eventual disappearance of the 35th president’s brain – which has remained one of America’s largest mysteries since the disappearance of the lost roanoke colony and their famous honeyed last word – “Croatoan.”
Following the release of his 1991 film, in 1992 Oliver Stone was assisted by Dr Wecht when he addressed the House Government Operations Subcommittee on Legislation and National Affairs (The Subcommittee) regarding classified files relating to JFK’s assassination.
Dr Wecht remains Stone’s efforts were instrumental to Congress signing & passing the President John F. Kennedy Assassination Records Collection Act of 1992. An act to provide for the expeditious disclosure of records relevant to the JFK assassination debate – which gave the public broad new access to previously circumstantial evidence.
In the 1992 C-SPAN broadcast titled “Legislation for disclosure of JFK assassination records, House Government Operations Subcommittee of Legislation,” Oliver Stone sat before the committee in his efforts to obtain not only the collection of “JFK Documents” but the entire truth surrounding the assassination.
During the broadcast, Stone defended the theory that Oswald did not act alone, going on to say, “the murder of president John. F Kennedy remains, after nearly thirty years, the crime of the century.”
He also said that “most Americans did not believe or support the initial verdict of the warren commission,” the commission assigned to the assassination of President Kennedy – established by the man who took over Kennedy’s presidency, President Lyndon B. Johnson through Executive Order 11130.
“Lee Harvey Oswald’s obvious connections to intelligence organisations and Jack ruby’s connections to organised crime were un-investigated and exempt,’’ added Stone. The act then provided funding which then went on to form the the Assassination Records Review Board Report (ARRB).
The board was then given a budget and timeframe of four years to declassify as many records as possible – of which over two million pages were collected.
WHAT HAPPENED TO JFK’S BRAIN?
Throughout his latest book, Dr Wecht heavily compiled all of his studies dating back six decades in an effort to display evidence directly rebutting the initial conclusion of the 1963 Warren Commission report. However, Dr Wecht appears particularly passionate and sceptical over the autopsy of President Kennedy & the mystery of the president’s missing brain.
In 1966, Dr Wecht was the first to discover that President Kennedy’s brain had gone missing from the National Archives. As this historical fact certainly makes for an interesting and unique circumstance; we are merely left with one question: What happened to John. F Kennedy’s brain?
To this day – no one knows.
Theorists suggest that JFK’s brain holds the truth about his death. It could reveal that JFK had actually been shot in the front of his head, rather than the back. Others believe the brain was stolen by none other than Robert “Bobby” Kennedy, the President’s brother who was later assassinated in 1968. Whatever your belief – the ex Presidents brain could be integral to putting the JFK assassination debate to rest, once and for all.
JFK’s autopsy was performed at the Bethesda Naval Hospital in Maryland, lasting a total of 28.5 hrs. This led to Dr Wecht’s findings of who the Federal Government had hired to perform the autopsy; two naval career pathologists – J. Thornton Boswell and his associate, commander James Humes; neither of whom had ever performed an autopsy.
“There was not much of the brain left,” recalled FBI agent Francis X. O’Neill Jr., who was present at the autopsy. “More than half of the brain was missing.”
As an experienced pathologist, Dr Wecht – who has performed more than 21,000 autopsies and offered expert testimony on many high-profile cases, such as Kurt Cobain, Martin Luther King. Jr, Sharon Tate and Anna Nicole Smith – heavily criticised the American Government for their improper autopsy procedures. He stated publicly “why have two naval pathologists performed the autopsy instead of two forensic pathologists?”
Dr Wecht’s writings also inform us that Dr James Humes – chief autopsy pathologist in Kennedy’s autopsy – later admitted that he destroyed autopsy notes. In the book, Dr Wecht seems to be particularly concentrated on his suspicions over the Warren Commission’s original report, which concluded Kennedy had been shot by one lone shooter – Lee Harvey Oswald.
THE MAGIC BULLET THEORY
According to the Warren Report, the lone shooter stood on the 6th floor of the Dallas Book Depository and used his 6.5×52mm Mannlicher-Carcano rifle to fire three shots, the first fire of which initiated the original “Single Bullet Theory,” devised by Arlen Specter. Specter was later appointed to the Warren Commission in its investigation to explain what happened to the bullet that struck Kennedy in the back and exited through his throat.
Although the Warren Commission report did not specify the exact order of the shots, the report initially came to a two shot conclusion; one bullet hitting Kennedy and governor Connally, and the final shot hitting Kennedy in the head.
Moreover, Wecht argues that if Oswald was the lone shooter, then why does the Zapruder Footage (which was not released publicly until 12 years after the assassination) show a potential four shots being fired: The first shot missing and hitting bystander, James Tague; the second shot hitting Kennedy in the neck; a third shot fired into Kennedy’s back, penetrating Governor Connally’s shoulder, and the fourth and final headshot – killing JFK.
However, Dr Wecht notes that the report dubbed “The Single Bullet Theory” by the Warren Commission, is “undoubtedly” the most opposing evidence to support the Warren Commission’s original report. Which Dr Wecht famously discredited by calling it the “The Magic-bullet Theory.”
The theory known as “Warren Commission Exhibit 399” (or “CE 399”), the exhibit of “The Magic Bullet,” posits that a single, untarnished bullet, caused all the wounds to the governor and the non-fatal wounds to JFK. Totalling up to seven entry/exit wounds in both men.
Nonetheless, this theory is widely believed to be one of the most superfluous theories ever produced by the US government; and Dr Wecht was vocal in his scrutiny over the initial theory.
In a recent interview, Dr Wecht told The New York Post “young people are still being taught that the 35th president was murdered by a lone gunman, and that is simply bulls–t.” Dr Wecht also added “Oswald had most definitely been an intelligence agent of some kind.”
BIDEN RELEASES JFK FILES
On December 15th 2021, after acquiescing to the CIA’s demands, thousands of documents were declassified by the National Archives and Records Administration under the order of the Biden Administration. 958-1,491 of which are from the CIA; also counting other various documents, files and memos from numerous agencies including the FBI and The State Department.
Keeping in mind, the amount of documents released are less than 10 percent of the admitted 15,834 classified documents still in existence.
So, why won’t the CIA release all of the documents? Author and editor of the JFK Files, Jefferson Morley, believes the CIA has something to hide. And after reading through these documents, it is clear that the CIA does not want to admit what they knew about Oswald before the assassination – or what their initial interests in Oswald really were.
Among these documents are two cable documents that were written about Oswald in October 1963 – six weeks before the assassination. And for the first time in 58 years, we now have a completely uncensored version of the CIA’s “pre-assassination” file on Oswald.
Another of these declassified cable documents was a cable to Mexico City (while Oswald was attempting to get a visa there) that was written by six (some highly) commissioned CIA officers; The Director, the CIA Deputy Assistant, the Foreign Intelligence Officer, the liaison, the Chief of the Mexico desk and the Chief of Operations in the western hemisphere.
What these declassified documents reveal is that the CIA wished to delay and evade the question regarding their foreknowledge of Lee Harvey Oswald, which begs the question: Was the CIA Running a black-ops Sting operation? Until we are given access to the other 14, 344 documents, we may never know.
“I’M JUST A PATSY!”
Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, Lee Harvey Oswald was always a sharp, clever and articulate young man. At just 17, he joined the US Marine Corp, spending time with one of his many to be intelligence connections, David Ferrie at Fort Worth, Texas in 1955.
After a year of service, Oswald was sent to one of the most secret US bases in the world – Atsugi, located in Japan. From here, the CIA operated spy flights over communist China using U-2 reconnaissance planes.
A competent sharpshooter but an indifferent marine, Oswald began expressing pro-Soviet and politically radical views after reading Leninist & Marxist literature during his service. And, on a hardship plea – secured release from the corps on September 11, 1959. Nine days later he left for the Soviet Union, where he tried unsuccessfully to become a citizen.
Congressman (and future president) Gerald R. Ford, who served as a Warren Commission member in 1964, revealed in his 1965 book “Oswald: Portrait of the Assassin” that the FBI had an “undercover agent” in Dallas at the time of the assassination and that agent (official code S-172) was none other than Lee Harvey Oswald.
In fact, Oswald was so “well acquainted” with the high-up officers, that ARRB records show that Angleton and the CIA were receiving reports on Oswald up until one week before the assassination. The document dated November 14, 1963 briefly lays out what Oswald did the day and week leading up to JFK’s assassination.
State Department Intelligence Officer, Otto Otepka, had noted a marked increase in the number of American military men defecting to Russia at the time, suspecting that some of these men had been assigned by the CIA to garner intelligence behind the Iron Curtain.
Otepka sent a letter to the CIA requesting documentation stating differentiation between Operatives and real military figures. The CIA then returned Otepka’s request with a list which included the name “OSWALD, LEE HARVEY – 351-464.” Otepka’s request was then forwarded to James Angleton, Chief of Counterintelligence, who instructed there be no search performed on Oswald – but Otepka continued to work on the case.
But why did Otepka’s initial interest in Oswald begin before the assassination of JFK? Because Otepka knew something was off and wanted to find out more. However, this eventually led to Otepka being fired from the State Department on November 5th, 1963, just 17 days before the assassination.
The evidence raised presents us with two questions: How could a former US Marine have been able to enter and exit the Soviet Union so easily? And was he a double agent, or the fall guy for a wider plot? Whatever he was, Oswald stinks of intelligence, and it would certainly come as no surprise if we come to find that is in fact the case.
CONNECTIONS TO DR JOLLY WEST
Dr Louis Jolyon West, whose work focused primarily on taking people to the “limits of human experience,” was an extremely prevalent American psychiatrist, who worked under the auspices of none other than Dr Ewan Cameron. Interestingly, Dr Cameron was one of the many “masterminds” behind the infamous CIA LSD mind control program, MK Ultra.
Dr West was held under extreme scrutiny during his time at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in the 1960s, after proposing the idea of using minorities, the disabled, prisoners and the mentally ill as “test subjects.”
But West is most notably known for his direct consultation connection with Patty Hearst, Charles Manson, Timothy McVeigh… and low and behold, Jack Ruby. Yes, you read that correctly – Dr West consulted for Jack Ruby before he shot Lee Harvey Oswald on live television. Astonishingly, West later went on to consult Sirhan Sirhan. The man who assassinated Robert F. Kennedy.
JFK ASSASSINATION DEBATE
Fidel Castro? Lyndon Johnson? The Soviets? The CIA?… We may never truly know for certain, However, with Cyril Wecht’s 58 year old suspicion, we are left with the ultimatum that Lee Harvey Oswald didn’t act alone, and there is the considerable possibility that perhaps he didn’t assassinate president Kennedy at all.
In fact, the day his brother died, Robert ‘’Bobby’’ Kennedy made his first phone call to the CIA desk officer. A persistent Bobby Kennedy asked, “Did your people conduct this horror?” And not only did he suspect the agency’s involvement, he also — like Cyril Wecht – believed his brother was killed by multiple people.
What led Bobby Kennedy to believe this, wasn’t from anything he read; it was from people who told him, his closest aides. People like Kenny O’Donnell and Dave Powers – both WWII Veterans – who, mind you, were in the limousine behind JFK the day he was assassinated.
The two men told Bobby Kennedy; “Robert, the gunfire had not only come from the rear, it came from different sides. There was gunfire from the front as well.”
JFK & SECRET SOCIETIES
“The very word secrecy is repugnant in a free and open society, and we are as a
people inherently and historically opposed to secret societies, to secret oaths and to secret proceedings.” Kennedy continues, “no official of my administration; whether his rank is high or low, civilian or military should interpret my words here tonight as an excuse to censor the news, to stifle dissent, to cover up our mistakes or to withhold from the press and the public the facts they deserve to know.”
It is clear that Kennedy had intense concerns over not only the state of America, but the people running it from the shadows. Perhaps we are left with the possibility that maybe, just maybe – John. F Kennedy was viewed as a liability by the same people he wished to scrutinise and ultimately expel.
JFK closed his speech with:
“for we are opposed around the world by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy that relies primarily on covert means for expanding its sphere of influence on infiltration instead of invasion, on subversion, instead of Elections, on intimidation instead of free choice. It is a system which has conscripted vast human and material resources into the building of a tightly knit, highly efficient machine that combines military, diplomatic intelligence, economic, scientific and political operations.”
